Luke Nicol

Paintings and Drawings

About

Luke Nicol grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario, and has always been drawn to the power and beauty of Lake Superior’s North Shore. After his graduation from Lakehead University in 2003, Lake Superior became the subject of many paintings. Luke also experiments with stream of consciousness painting, in which colourful compositions are created that contain both representational imagery and non objective forms.

With a recent return to pencil drawing. Luke is currently working on a series of drawings that explore a broad field of human endeavour in the hopes of finding meaning within the thrilling diversity of human activity.

Luke now lives, with his family, in Turku, Finland.
